Date of birth: 4th of July
Zodiac Sign: Cancer

Have you started carrying the burden of a marital life?
No. …Thank God ….No

What do you do to chill out?
Watch movies and movies and listen to music.

Childhood -
I was a shy kid and didn’t have many friends. I was very close to my mom. I had lots of dream on what to become when I grow up. I dreamed of -
becoming a pilot and also an actor in the big screen. The
acting part came out good. I started taking acting classes when I was in states but I enjoyed being the creator more than just an actor or a director, acting is just not my thing.

  Education
I went to Kanti - Ishwori School for Nursery & L.K.G then joined St. Xavier’s till class 8 and gave my S.L.C in private. I completed my +2 in states and joined Monte Gomerie College in Maryland.

Which movie didn’t allow you to sleep?
“Dead man walking” coz it was very depressing.

Which artists inspire you the most?
Actor John Malkovich

What kind of music relaxes you?
Indian songs and Opera

Where do you think you can have the most fun?
While working (that’s shooting)

People you like to work with?
If I have the chance, I would love to work with Gautam Rajadhyaksha from India and cinematographer Santosh Sivan. Their works are simply awesome.

Tell us about your parents were they always supportive?
Initially, not at all., When I told my mom that I want to become an actor, she said no. that was before I went to America in 1992. Even though I told her that I would take photography as major and would get a degree. During my first semester I took photography then I took up acting (Performing arts).
When I came back I told her that I wanted to do movies and she was completely shocked. Then I mentioned her that I took up acting while I was in the states. Now she is happy with it, as she knows whatever I have achieved is purely hard work and nothing else.

  How do you handle criticism?
It comes with a package. I hate when people criticize something they have no idea about. They have no idea how much of hard work one have put in but if criticism comes from genuine people who want to help me out then it is all right.

How and when did you start your career?
If it was from college days then in 1994 and as a professional, I started off my career with image channel when I got back from USA in 1998.

  Which was your first project?
As a professional it was Image Pop. When I was video director I started of with Nabin K. Bhattarai’s music video.

Were you always fascinated with directing?
Not really. During my college days, I was majoring with acting then I thought I should take up direction as well, as I didn’t enjoy acting. It all started when I was acting in a play “Jeffrey” and I felt I could do better than the director wanted me to.

Have you acted in a movie?
Yes, I have acted in a movie named “Numafung”. It was offered to me as they were searching for a profile like mine. They had seen one of my program in Image T.V. and liked it. I finally agreed but I deferred from signing and dancing in the movie until I had heard the script.
Shooting wise it was horrible. I am not a kind of a person who can go to a remote area and slog. The movie was shot in Panchthar and there is no electricity and no proper food and phone. It was a memorable experience though.

Which project in particular is the best one you have ever undertaken?
Well, all the works I have done in the past has taught me how to make things better. The works I have done in the past are also equally good for me and I’m proud of it. But if you want to know the best out of the best till date, I must say that “Dubna Deu Malai” the video that I have done for Anil Singh tops the rank. The reason is, whenever I watch a video after it is shot I feel like I should have done this I should have done that but this video, looks like some one with more experience has done it and not me.

How do you choose your projects?
Well I am very choosy in this matter. I don’t take every offer that I get. To do the music videos, I should like the song first, then comes the artist itself. I have my own set of team that includes editors, cameramen and the place I hire to complete the project.
I have to feel comfortable of what I do and whom I do it with. It doesn’t make a different if the artist is a renowned or a new comer. At the same time when I take up a project, budget really doesn’t really matter. One thing is for sure, I believe in QUALITY.

Did you expect of winning awards for the works you have done?
No, never. When I undertake a project, I try to give 100% to it and make it the best possible. Winning awards for me is kind of appreciating the hard work not only of me but also of our teamwork.

How many awards have you won so far?
Till date as far as I can remember, I have won,
San Miguel Video Award - 2000
Image Awards for 4 consecutive years.
Dashain Festival Awards
Letter of appreciation from Dalit Samaj.
Music.com honored mothers.
Channel Nepal AVM awards 2004.

Tell me more about B.A.P production house?
Well it’s not a production house as such it’s just a presentation name of our teamwork. We came up with the name from the first initials of the people behind the scene. We have been working together since the first video and as a free lancer we have been working for more than a year now. We decided to mention B.A.P. as a title for videos that we have created.
The full meaning B.A.P. is B for :- Bidur Pandey “Camera Man”, A for:- Alok Nembang, P for:- Prakash Tuladhar “Editor”

Tell us about your working style and how you execute the project given to you?
I listen to the song first, once my body knows the rhythm, I sit down and listen to the lyrics carefully. I decide the colors before I come up with a plan then I think of a prop or a storyline.
I then discuss my concept with concerned, the singer, the lyricist and the song composer. After their approval, I draw the video’s each and every shot. Select & finalize the appropriate models for the project. After that only I decide on the time and location for the shoot.
Once it is all done then I ‘m off to shoot. To make the long thing short, I believe I handle my project as 75%-table work and 25% shooting. I never shoot without the script.

If you have to rank again, which model has been easier to work with?
I have worked with talented people and never thought there were so many. I don’t like to call them models. I call them Artists. I am very easy with Jharna Bajracharya, she was my first called actress and she is good and improving every day. I like Subodh Thapa in the men’s side. Other names that I enjoyed working with are Prasiddhika Rayamajhi, Sujhil Karmacharya and many more as I’m always in search for new talents.

If given a chance, which project would you really like to do?
There are many projects that I would like to do if given a chance but my dream project would be to execute the song of the legendary gazal singer from Pakistan "Gulam Ali" written by His Late Majesty the King M.B.B.Shah and the title is “Gajalu Ti Thula Thula Ankha”. The rhythm, lyrics and the voice, it’s just amazing.
