How did you get into the field of music
and what were the hardships you went through?
Ravi: Actually we were always music
oriented. Sumesh: getting into music was the option that we
had chosen though separately.
Ravi: Well I lived nearby Sumesh but had no idea that we both
were interested in music. So when we set up a small jamming
session we came across Sijan at Do Re Mi along with our vocalist.
And we have also included a flutist.
Sijan: So our band was officially started in 2057. |

Who supported u initially?
Umesh
Well we did not get support from our parents.
Ravi
But my father always supported me. He used to dance when we
jammed.
Umesh
Ghanshyam Dai who stays near where
we stay supported us a lot.
Ravi
He encouraged us a lot. We have
started “Strophic us Music Land” in Kupondole
right now. |

Were there any thoughts of breaking
up? If there was, how did u deal with it?
Ravi:
Well I did break up for a year. I went to another band but
the chemistry was just not there. So I came back.
Umesh:It was a tough time but after his comeback we have become
much stronger mentally and psychologically. |

What are your specialties?
Ravi: Well in our band we only have unity
and diversity as specialties. I am into Blues and Rock.Sijan:I
am interested in Jazz.Sumesh:I am interested in Classical
Rock. |

How do you manage to keep yourselves
together?
Sijan
Well
we are more a family than distinct members of a music group.Sumesh:The
music knowledge among us the same so no one is the hero or
the loser.Ravi:We gel with each other and also the chemistry
is good. |

Your future plans?
Sijan
Right now we do not have funds.
Noone is backing us. Ravi:Our vocalist is in Kalingpong .So
our plans to have an album have suffered a major setback.
Sumesh: We also have got offers from clubs in Thamel to play
there but the lack of music instruments have really pulled
us down. |

What other things do you share in the
group other than music?
Sijan
Well as I have mentioned before we
are more than family. We hang out most of the time. Sumesh:
We party among each other. |

Would your group be hampered in any
way when either of u got married?
Umesh
Well
there have been talks about such matters already and we are
never going to break up. Ravi:Our music life and our personal
life are separate from each other. |

What do you think are the qualities
that separate you from others?
Ravi
Well we have a diversity in our likes
as far as music is concerned. Also everyone gets to share
their ideas and views.
